2011 Dive-A-Thon

As we begin to embark on a new diving season, it is time for our biggest fundraiser of the year: the 2nd Annual YCF Dive-A-Thon. This year the event will take place on Sunday, December 4th from 10-2. Following the dive-a-thon we will having a potluck lunch for all divers and families. Last year this was a great event that raised our team over $6000!! This year I am aiming higher with a goal of raising $7000.
For those of you who are new team our team the dive-a-thon is a fundraiser event for every diver on the team. Divers receive pledges per dive (i.e. 10 cents per dive) with a goal of performing 100 dives during the designated 2 hours. Divers are allowed to perform any dives they wish, off of any height! It really is a fun event for the all divers which is capped off with a potluck lunch for all the divers and families. Better yet, the parents are invited to join in on the diving fun! I will be holding a 30 mintue adult clinic for all the parents to experience a day in the life of their diver. It is sure to be a blast!
Please carefully read through the attached information which explains more about the dive-a-thon, how to get pledges and includes a pledge recording sheet. This event is mandatory for all junior olympic divers yet would like the lesson divers to also be part of this great event. This is our biggest fundraiser of the year and it is a great event for all the divers and their families so please plan on attending.

Sak Comedy Club Fundraising Update

Hello everyone!
Please be sure to get your Comedy Club fundraiser tickets/cash to Tami Kraeger ASAP. the deadline is Monday, September 26th. She is at the pool most days until 6:30 or Shawna Vicker (Nina aka. Shrimp’s mom) will also help with the collection for those of you who are at the pool later. This is a great fund raiser and a time to get to know other divers and their parents…AWAY FROM THE POOL! Please make every effort possible to support this. Past fund raising has bought the team new mats, tivos, tv’s, cameras, and a teaching belt. The kids benefit from our efforts, from lessons to the National Team.

2011 USA Diving Age Group and Junior Nationals

Beginning July 29th, Coach Mark and Coach Courtney will be traveling to Knoxville, Tennessee for the Championship season finale, Age Group and Junior Nationals. The meet will begin with all Age Group National Qualifiers competingJuly 29th – 31st and will finish up with all Junior National Qualifiers competing until August 6th. The following divers will be taking the trip to Knoxville. Please wish them good luck and safe travels!
Treasure Coast Invite

The Treasure Coast Invite is June 18th. This is a one day meet. All Lessons, JO1, and JO2 divers are welcome and encouraged to compete. The meet will be held in Sebastian, Fl. Registration for this meet is on DiveMeets.com. You must have a current AAU Membership to register. If your diver is interested in competing in this invitational, please email Coach Courtney as soon as possible to receive your divers dive list. Coaches fees for this meet are $15 per event. Payment must be received no later than June 16th. Please make checks payable to Courtney McClow.
2011 USA Diving Summer Junior Region 7 Championships

On June 8th, Coaches Mark and Courtney will be traveling with divers from the JO3, JO4, and JO5 groups to the USA Diving Summer Junior Region 7 Championships in Knoxville, Tn. The top 12 divers from each event will qualify for the Zone Championships in Moultrie, Ga. in July and be one step closer to the Junior National Championships. These divers have been training very hard the past couple months for this series of meets. Please wish these divers the best of luck!

UPCOMING MEET – Wellington Invitational

Wellington Invitational: March 19th, Plantation, Fl.
Divers from Lessons, JO1, and JO2 are encouraged to attend this meet. It is a one day meet and consists of both novice and JO events. Due to the meet only being one day, we are allowing families to decide which day they would like to arrive. If you would like to arrive on Friday night, you are free to choose a hotel of your choice. All divers are expected at 7 am on Saturday morning for the general open warm up at the pool.
Divers will need to register with USA Diving. Please choose Limited Access Membership. This membership is good for all USA Diving invitationals we will be attending this summer. Cost is $12. Dive lists and information on how to register will be email to all parents soon. Please keep an eye open for that email.
