The schedule for the 2013 Mark Ruiz Diving Camps has been released. We hope you will join us June 24-28th or July 1-5th for intensive sessions that are sure to improve your skills.
YCF Divers get a special rate of $295 per session. To get this special rate you must print the registration forms and turn them in with your payment to Coach Mark directly.

Fee Changes

There are a few things that will be changing this upcoming month in regards to fees and payments. Due to the increased cost of goods and operations, it was determined that an increase in fees will be assessed to all programs currently training at the Y. The following groups will have a slight increase in their fees beginning February 1st: pre-team, lessons, and JO 1. Here is the new payment structure:
Pre-Team: $60
Lessons: $110
JO 1: $165
These pricing will be in place for the upcoming month of February. As I mentioned, we will now have a payment box located at the far side of the pool in the corner near the free standing 3 meter. Please turn in all checks to the box. Likewise cash payments should be placed in the box as well in an envelope with your name and amount paid. Bank drafts and credit card payments will continue to be made at the front desk. If you have any payment questions, please contact the coaching staff.

2013 East Nationals Hotel Info

USA Diving has confirmed the site for the 2013 East National in West Lafayette, Indiana. Those of you who will be participating at spring regionals and will likely qualify for East Nationals begin to make your hotel reservations and block your hotel rooms as soon as possible before they’re out. The team hotel will the Courtayard Marriott at Purdue. USA Diving is offering a discount rate of $109 per night at the Courtyard but to book the $109 rate you must go through their website at www.usadiving.org. The other hotel options around the area where very pricey so make sure to block your rooms.
Those of you who are unable to block a room at the Marriott we are working on blocking rooms at another hotel near by but we are waiting on confirmation. Will keep you posted.
Holiday Schedule 2012

As the holidays are approaching we will be adjusting our diving schedule to accommodate. Here is the schedule for the upcoming weeks.
Pre-Team, Lessons & JO1
Practices will remain at their normal times and dates but will have NO practice December 24,25, 31 and January 1st.
JO2-JO5
- December 24-26 and December and January 1 will have “NO Practice”
- December 27 & 28 Practices will be from 3-5:30 everyone will be combined
- December 31 JO2-JO5 will have practice from 9-11am
- JO4 & 5 January 2-4 will have practice from 9-11 and 1:30-3:30
- JO2 & 3 January 2-4 will have practice from 11-12:30 and 3:30-5:30
Remember Dive-a-Thon pledges need to be in by December 31st so please bring those as soon as you can.
2012 Christmas Invitational

A huge thank you to all the parents for helping us put on the YCF Christmas Invitiational. This was definitely the best one we have had yet and I received numerous compliments from the visiting coaches and teams. We could not have had such a great event without the support of our parents for taking time to volunteer. Our parents worked hard decorating our diving well and making it look so festive. I was so proud of our team as our divers performed great! I was impressed with the performaces and development of our kids. I felt like everyone did a great job competing and felt like the divers gained vaulable experience. Overall it was a great weekend and congratulations to all our of divers!

YCF Diving Welcomes Coach Ron Minor

YCF Diving is adding another great coach to our phenomenal coaching staff! In response to concerns over class size and diving time, we have decided to have Coach Ron Minor join YCF diving beginning Monday, November 19th.
Coach Ron will be working alongside Coach K to cover lesson and pre-team divers. The addition of Coach Ron was to minimize class sizes so that our divers could receive more one on one attention with their respective coach. Divers will get the opportunity to practice more dives during a given practice and receive more attention. Ron will make a strong addition to our great coaching staff so please welcome him to the YCF diving family.

Coach Bryan Gillooly Inducted into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame!

YCF Diving is proud to Congratulate coach Bryan Gillooly on his Hall of Fame induction into the University of Miami Sports Hall of Fame.Gillooly was a two-time NCAA diving champion, winning the 10-meter platform title in 1996 and the 3-meter springboard in 1998. He was a 12-time All-American, garnering the honor in the 1- and 3-meter springboards, and the 10-meter platform in each of his four years at Miami (1995-98). He was also named the 1996 NCAA Diver of the Year and was a BIG EAST Academic All-Star in 1996-97. Gillooly was a finalist at the 1996 and 2000 U.S. Olympic Trials.
Next Week’s Practice Schedule

The high school Metro Championship meet that will be taking place at the YMCA next Wednesday,October 10th. The three 1 meter boards will be closed at 6pm for the high school divers in the competition. Despite the meet, we WILL still be holding practice with Bryan, and coach K. I just wanted to make you all were aware of what will be going on next week as the facility will be busy. You might want to arrive early.
We will be canceling practice next Friday, October 12th due to the Rowdy Gaines Swimming Invitational. For make ups, please touch base with Coach K.
